He is
the author of "I Am A Black Man" and the Publisher of "The Oates Report" the
CEO/Publisher of Urban People USA/Black Pages Today.com and Political Black.com.
He can be read throughout the Internet on various web Sites. Ten years ago Loo
Oates Jr. wrote his first political short story about the changing
landscape of politics, predicting the rise of the Republican Party in the 1994
elections. Mr. Oates Reports can be viewed on more than 100 sites on the
Internet. His articles have appeared on Black Voices, Chicago Tribune, Black Men
In America, Global Black News, Online Magazine, Opinion Magazine, Black
Family and Talk Back. He is a Contributing Editor for the New York
Black Today and The Good News Gazette newspapers.
Additional his work has been recognized
by many national newspapers and magazines - including, Chicago
Tribune, North Carolina Conservative, Caribbean Express, African
Quest, Mundo Hispanico, WNCT TV, V-108 Talk etc. His record as a Political
Consultant have kept him in high demand in Democrats and Republicans inner
circles. Along the way, Mr. Oates has taken countless issues, buoyed by his
lighthearted views of serious and important issues.
Born in North Carolina, Loo graduated from
Carver High School in Mount Olive NC and signed a contract to play baseball with
the Indianapolis Clowns, the last barnstorming team from the old Negro League.
He played in the Atlanta Braves Minor League System. Attended Long Island
University in Brooklyn,NY worked on a MBA and on to Law School.
In 1989, Oates, relocated to Raleigh North Carolina, where he
served as The Executive Director of the North Carolina Council On The Homeless.
He started the National Black Pages Inc. in 1990 and went on to publish
directories in North Carolina. Later he was one of the first to go digital, by
moving Black Pages Today.com to the Internet, where it still ranks as the # 1
Black Pages on the Internet.
Oates became the founder of the Black Business Owners, Professionals
and Entrepreneurs (BOPE) http://www.ncbope.com
in North Carolina, helping to establish over 100 small
businesses.
